If you’re facing a difficult situation with your partner or in your family right now, and you’re finding it hard to see a light at the end of the tunnel, counselling sessions with an experienced therapist can provide you support and strategies to build a life that brings you fulfilment.

Ebb and Flow Counselling strives to support people who are trying to make sense of their lives.  They might be dealing with stress, unhealthy patterns, the joy and pain of belonging to a church, parenting challenges, anxiety, and relationship issues.  FIFO or DIDO workers looking for relationship support are welcome at the practice.

Sessions at Ebb and Flow Counselling are a safe place to share your stresses and receive strategies to help.  Clients come first. Interventions are tailored to your needs.

Fleur Tucker is the therapist at Ebb and Flow Counselling.  She is a registered ACA Level 2 counsellor with post graduate qualifications. Three decades of experience around Australia and overseas in informal counselling, chaplaincy and pastoral care make her a seasoned practitioner.  As author of Great Questions, in addition to a digital journal, Grieve Well, Fleur provides quality resources to support you on your journey towards healing and wholeness.

If this sounds like it would be beneficial for you, you’re welcome to book a session so that we can work together to find a way through the ebbs and flows of life.

Do I need a Mental Health Plan?

No, you don’t need a Mental Health Plan to see a counsellor.

  • You are not restricted to a certain number of appointments – you can see a counsellor as many times as you need.
  • Counsellors are not restricted to using a certain method – the strategies are tailored to your needs.
  • Counselling fees are often less than the medicare gap required to see a psychologist.

Counselling is an affordable, flexible service. Keep in mind that counsellors don’t diagnose or treat mental disorders and don’t prescribe medication, but counselling can be a great support if you’re looking to work through the issues that affect your day to day life.

Counselling is an ongoing conversation between a client, who has expertise in their own situation, and a counsellor who has some knowledge and expertise in people’s behaviour and corresponding interventions to help clients grow and cope.  Each session is a formal, professional, collaborative, non-judgemental conversation.

Counsellors will outline confidentiality expectations, professional boundaries, payment terms, scope of practice, and any relevant limitations either before or during the first session. Clients receive an intake form and confidentiality statement that explain the purpose, scope, and limits of the counselling relationship. If a client’s needs fall outside the counsellor’s expertise or experience, an appropriate referral to another practitioner may be provided.
