Confident Kids Know They are Valued

Is your child lacking in confidence? Are they insecure? Are you at communicating value to your child? Not sure how? Try these suggestions and see if they make any difference to your kids’ confidence.

With your words:
You’re a star
I appreciate you
Thank you for your help
What would you like to do?
What a champion!
I love you

With your actions:
Spend time doing what your child loves
Keeping your word
Hugs
High Fives
Be reliable
Listen to them without giving advice

It will take some practice for this to be second nature to you. However, confident kids know they are valued, and how they feel comes out in their actions. As a parent, you can contribute to boosting their self esteem with genuine words and actions.
