The story of Ebb and Flow Counselling starts a long time ago! It’s a story of self-discovery and growth. It’s part of the story of me.
Have you ever felt like you don’t have what it takes, that you’re not smart enough, or capable of becoming anything more? In 2015, I decided to counter those feelings by taking some action. I went back to high school as an adult and finished 3 Year 12 subjects. I did well. I learned a lot about myself and some stuff about art and media and English. I began to feel competent and confident.
When a major life transition came my way a few years later, I decided to go to University to study and become a counsellor. It was a big stretch, but after learning how to learn in 2015, I felt able to try. I’m not going to lie – there was a lot of tears and self-doubt, but I made it through, graduating with post graduate qualifications.
I began Ebb and Flow Counselling in December 2023. Two years ago. I’ve seen over 50 clients since then and clocked up many hours of counselling sessions. The practice is still ‘becoming’. New and exciting things happen often. I’m still learning. This dream of mine continues to bloom.
So, when you come to see me for counselling, I know what it’s like to face a fear, to persist, to grow, to change when you’re older, to dream of a better way and then make it happen. I’ve had enough ebbs in life to appreciate the flows.
The story of Ebb and Flow Counselling can be your story too. Not that you’ll do what I did, but that you’ll find your own pathway to change and new confidence. I invite you to write your own story of strength. I’d be very happy to support you along the way. Who knows what you’ll be like in 2 years? But I’m certain that if you don’t do anything to change your life now, you won’t reap the rewards in the future.
