Here are some popular podcasts for men on mental health and parenting topics. Although they are marketed to men, there’s no reason that women can not also find them helpful.
1. “The Good Enough Dad” (ongoing) This podcast is hosted by Australian Podcaster, author, educator and speaker with Resilient Kids, Maggie Dent. Maggie hosts well-known Dads like Hamish Blake and lesser known ones too as they discuss parenting.
2. “The Mental: The Podcast to Destigmatise Mental Health” by Bobby Temps: This UK podcast focuses on de-stigmatising mental health. It has won the People’s Choice Podcast award for 4 years running. Each episode covers a different topic in about 40 minutes.
2. “The Men’s Mental Health Podcast” by Men’s Mental Health (2021): This Australian podcast explores various aspects of men’s mental health, including stress, anxiety, depression, and relationships. It aims to break down stigmas and provide practical advice for men.
3. “The Evolving Man Podcast” by Dr. John Schinnerer (2020): Dr. John Schinnerer delves into topics related to men’s emotional well-being, relationships, and personal development. He offers insights and strategies for men looking to improve their mental health.
4. “Everything Happens” with Kate C Bowler (ongoing): this podcast is for everyone who has faced difficult situations only to be told trite, unhelpful platitudes by friends, family and complete strangers. Kate’s interviews are honest, kind and reflective. She speaks with people who have grown through the hard things in life. Alan Alda was my favourite guest, but there’s a wide array of people who are invited to share their thoughts on the hard things in life.
5. “The Anxiety Guy Podcast” by Dennis Simsek (Ongoing): While not exclusively for men, this podcast provides valuable insights into managing anxiety and stress, which are common concerns for many men.
6. “Parental As Anything ABC” with Maggie Dent (Ongoing): This podcast focuses on common parenting challenges and gives practical, common sense advice to any parent looking to increase connection with their kids.
These podcasts offer a range of perspectives and resources for men seeking to improve their mental health and well-being. Keep in mind that podcasts for men can be beneficial for everyone, regardless of gender, as they often address universal themes and provide valuable insights and strategies for personal growth, parenting and emotional well-being.
